Important Disclaimers

Not a tax filing product. SnapBooks organizes CRA-required records but does not prepare or file tax returns. Always consult a professional accountant for tax filing.

Vehicle expenses. The KM logbook tracks business trips and produces an estimated deduction using the CRA employee allowance rate. Self-employed individuals on T2125 typically use the actual-expense method (business km divided by total km, multiplied by actual costs). Confirm the correct method with your accountant.

HST registration. You must register for HST once taxable revenue exceeds $30,000 in a single calendar quarter OR across four consecutive calendar quarters. Rideshare and taxi drivers must register from their first fare. SnapBooks alerts you at $25,000 and $30,000 but is not a substitute for professional advice.

CRA rates. Tax rates and rules are updated periodically. Always verify current rates at canada.ca.
